out of sorts

Today began with a last minute decision to attend the meeting at city hall regarding plans for rental and owner occupied housing. After that I became disheartened with downtown politics. Tonight I'm just frustrated with all politics. I'm feeling somewhat deflated and so my post today is also touched with the flavor of a defeatist attitude.

I am about to turn it all off and watch Dancing with the Stars while I tune out the political commercials.

In the big scheme of things does does it really matter?

One group or one person trying to beat another over what... ideology? Who can do the job better? or just spite? It could be racism..it could be sexism..it could be for power or it could be that someone in power has asked for it.

They all can ask themselves why..and then they can hang their heads in shame because they know why.

In the big scheme of things does it really matter? Nothing will change either way.

I agree that it feels that way...a lot of the time. (That it won't change or it doesn’t matter). But somehow I have to believe it will because it needs to.
We need those with an idealistic strength to stand up for what ‘should be’ or nothing will ever change. It’s not a glorious fight and it certainly isn’t easy but at the end of the day we know that we did all we could and when we lay our heads down on our pillows we can sleep knowing that.
